Role Summary:The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing performance of overseeing the general ledger activities and leading the month-end and year-end closing processes. This position involves managing a team, ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize general ledger and closing processes.

Your primary tasks will be:Leadership and development:Conduct regular meetings with Accounting and Closing Lead to provide updates on work statusTake ownership of learning and development of specialist, provide respective guidanceActively participate in functional and technical training related to SAP S/4 HANA to enhance knowledgeResearch and provide guidance on complex accounting issues related to the general ledgerOperational Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general ledger function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactionsCalculate accruals / provisions, maintain journal entry templates and post entries for the periodManage allocation rules and perform cost allocation and distribution in SAP for the periodCarry out trial balance scrutiny to identify errors and make adjustments as a part of period-end close processManage the reconciliation of accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerMaintain the integrity of the general ledger through regular reconciliations and analysisLead and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes in adherence to strict deadlines, support with entity reporting reviewCalculate and post current period income tax provision with support from tax operations teamPerformance & Efficiency:Oversee GL Accounting and closing activities performed by GL and Closing specialist and provide support wherever requiredEnsure timely completion of close calendar tasks and raise early concerns if tasks won't be able to meet timelines due to some reasonsYour areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):Preferred Educational Requirements - BSc/BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance / B.comTotal proven experience in general ledger management, month-end and year-end closings of 3-5 years with a focus on leadership rolesExperience with ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4 HANA) and financial reporting softwareProficiency in ExcelStrong understanding of financial accounting and reporting, local GAAP and IFRS principlesStrong leadership and team management skillsStrong communication skills and attention to detailsHow to Apply:If you are ready to be a part of our exciting journey at STG, please, apply by including your resume and highlighting your experience, as well as any other relevant information you would like to share with us.
