We're looking for a Chennai-based or Lisbon-based Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist who will own both the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEA (Search Engine Advertising) efforts to drive business growth. As the SEM Specialist, you will be responsible for all paid search campaigns across platforms like Google, Yahoo, and Bing, as well as managing and improving organic search performance.
You'll collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure both SEO and SEA strategies deliver strong results, maximize performance, and increase traffic and conversions. What You'll Do Own both SEO and SEA strategies and execution. Manage and optimize paid search campaigns (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.
). Track, report, and analyze SEO/SEA performance, providing insights and actionable recommendations. Improve website ranking on SEO providing analysis and recommendations on on-site SEO issues such as metadata, content structure, internal linking, etc., as well as off-site SEO (e.g., backlinks, domain authority, etc.
). Work with website design and development to improve technical SEO (e.g., site speed, mobile-friendliness, crawlability, etc.
). Conduct keyword research and implement ongoing keyword optimization for both paid and organic efforts. Optimize the website, landing pages and on-site content for search visibility and conversions. Develop and execute link-building strategies. Monitor and analyze campaign performance (CTR, CPC, ROI) and manage budget allocation and bidding strategies. Research competitors' SEO and SEA activities and identify improvement opportunities. Collaborate with the rest of the marketing team to improve site architecture, content, and technical SEO. Requirements What We're Looking For BS/MS in Marketing or a related field with a focus on search marketing or digital advertising. Experience working with both paid and organic search tools and platforms. Have proven experience managing both SEO and SEA campaigns. Have proven experience in on-page SEO, off-page SEO and technical SEO. Are well-versed in performance marketing, conversion optimization, and customer acquisition. Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in search marketing. Have strong analytical skills and experience with tools like Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Understand A/B testing and multivariate experiments. Have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, especially for technical SEO. Our Lisbon office is hybrid.
