The Team: Hiscox is hiring a skilled and highly motivated Scrum Master to support and grow effective lean-agile ways of working across our value streams.
As part of London Market technology team , and reporting to the Head of Agile, you will join an established Agile community of practice, and will be accountable for the effectiveness of one or more squads. The Role: The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in driving the agile development process to maximize business value across varied value streams. Within this business-critical coordination role, you will:
Key Responsibilities:
Guide the squad and organisation on how to use agile values, principles, and practices to delight customers and deliver value to our business. Guide the squad and organisation on how to get the most out of self-organisation and cross-functionality. Ensure the squad has effective working practices, and that all events take place and are positive and productive. Build a trusting and safe environment that allows everybody to contribute to discussion, decision-making, and navigating conflict without fear of blame or being judged. Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. Causing the removal of impediments and guiding the team to remove impediments. Assess the maturity of the squad and organisation in lean-agile ways of working, and coach the squad to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable to the organisation. Support the change team (Product Managers & Product Owners) to establish empirical product planning in a complex environment. Support and educate the Product Owner, especially in Product Goal definition and refining and maintaining the Product Backlog. Assist with internal and external communication as needed, improving transparency, and radiating information. Work with the other members of the Agile community of practice to aid continuous learning, share knowledge, and collaborate as a team to mature the organisations lean-agile ways of working. Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, embracing change and supporting the organisations vision and strategy. Main requirements Experience in performing a Scrum Master or agile coaching role for a development team that was diligently applying lean-agile principles, practices and theory. Excellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency. Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering a positive and empowered team culture. Deep understanding of lean-agile principles and the benefits to product delivery.
