Offer Description Applications are open for 1 Scientific Initiation Scholarship (BII), within the framework of project/R&D institution CITIESTWINS - 2022.15504.MIT, with the financial support of FCT/MCTES through national funds under the Programa MIT Portugal 2022.
Workplan: The work to be carried out focuses on modeling the maintenance needs of urban buildings in combination with energy efficiency concerns.
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 4 months. It is expected to begin in December 2024. The scholarship contract is not renewable.

Minimum Requirements To be enrolled at a professional higher technical course, at a bachelor degree, at an integrated master or master degree, or to have a bachelor degree and be enrolled at a course that does not award an academic degree and it is integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, performed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units.
Not to exceed with this contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of one year in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.
Not to have held any other fellowship directly or indirectly funded by FCT.
Selection Process Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: curricular assessment - 60%, and individual interview - 40%. The curricular evaluation will be carried out according to the following components: enrolment and classification in an education course in Civil Engineering (40%); experience in durability and maintenance of constructions (30%); scientific publications in indexed journals in durability and maintenance of constructions (30%). The final evaluation results from the sum of the curricular evaluation and the interview evaluation. If none of the candidates has the appropriate profile, the scholarship will not be awarded.
Composition of the selection Jury: Dr. Ana Silva, Dr. Maria Paula Mendes and Professor José Dinis Silvestre.
Announcement/notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
Workplace: The work will be developed at CERIS (Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability) of Instituto Superior Técnico, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Ana Silva and Dr. Maria Paula Mendes.
