Offer Description CBIOS , the Research Center for Biosciences & Health Technologies, was established in 2011 as an R&D structure of COFAC / Universidade Lusófona to create and promote knowledge in health sciences. CBIOS has developed a distinctive 'Lusophone ecosystem' approach while harnessing the benefits of an integrated teaching and research environment. CBIOS aims for an inclusive and supportive environment fostering innovation, promoting advanced learning and attracting researchers with different identities, backgrounds, and talents, ensuring fair and equitable access to all team members, and empowering individuals to collaborate towards success.
Work Plan: Organization of dissemination, information and knowledge transfer events in the scope of CBIOS activities;
Support in the elaboration and submission of applications to national and international research funding programs;
Coordination and management of CBIOS R&D projects, including technical support in the scope of contracts, budget management, communication with funding agencies, and implementation of national and international funded projects;
Data management and processing, report writing and preparation of decision support opinions;
Recruitment processes of human resources for R&D activities;
Conditions of Employment: Average monthly salary between 1,650.00 euros and 2,000.00 euros, depending on the candidate's qualifications, plus meal allowance and insurance.

Skills/Qualifications Strong analytical thinking, service-oriented and demonstrated concern for meeting the needs of CBIOS;
Advanced presentation and facilitation skills;
Good inter-personal, networking, and negotiation skills;
Strong organisational skills and capacity to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines;
Ability to work independently and without supervision when required;
Pro-active, flexible and 'hands-on' approach to work;
Oral and written proficiency in Portuguese and English;
Training and/or proven experience in management functions in science and technology or project management;
Five years of relevant work experience in managing Research Units funded by FCT;
Experience at national or EU level in research policy or research administration, on areas such as EU Framework Programme, Open Science, international and national research funding programmes;
Knowledge of the mechanisms of publicly funded scientific research systems in Europe, at national and/or EU level;
Proven ability in project and event management;
Experience working in close contact with academics, in a national and international context.
Academic degrees obtained abroad will only be accepted upon recognition by the Directorate-General for Higher Education or by a Portuguese public Higher Education Institution, in compliance with the applicable legislation regarding the recognition of foreign qualifications.

Selection Process Selection method:
The applications admitted to the competition will be assessed considering the quality, timeliness and relevance of the professional curriculum of the applicants, in addition to the level of adequacy to the proposed work plan;
Criteria for Assessing the Curricular Assessment: Proven knowledge of national legislation relating to higher education and science;
Proven knowledge of national and international funding models for scientific research;
Experience in the submission and management of R&D projects;
Experience in recruitment processes of human resources for R&D activities.
The interview will apply only to candidates placed in the first positions after the curricular analysis. The interview will take place partly or entirely in English in order to determine the degree of familiarity with the language. The selection board may ask the candidate to prove his/her knowledge in any field it considers relevant, by carrying out an appropriate exercise for this purpose.
