Every day is different, but you'll mostly be: Actively prospecting and soliciting new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, conducting outside sales calls, online bidding/contracting, site inspections, client entertainment, contracting, RFP responses, and written communication. Targets key relationships with customers directly and through other sources including travel industry, CVB, etc. Meets solicitation and maintenance call requirements.Working with Event and Revenue Management to assure maximum utilization of facility. Preparing weekly sales reports and other departmental reports as designated as well as other correspondence. Includes correspondence to customers and internal departments, internal booking reports, sales activity recaps, pre/post trip reports, contributes to hotel's marketing and sales plans and revenue forecasts.Participating in daily business review meetings, weekly sales meetings, function specific training, mystery shopping and other sales related meetings as required.Participating and professionally representing the hotel in industry related professional organizations, trade shows, community events, networking events, and sales trips.Developing and maintaining knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.Promoting positive relations with guests, customers, and employees. Handling complaints by following instant pacification procedures ensuring satisfaction.Assisting with and completing special projects and assignments as designated by the Director of Sales and Marketing.Qualifications and Expectations: Some College plus 5 years sales or marketing related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related degree preferred. Prior hotel sales experience preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.
