Job Title: Robotics/Mechatronics Engineer
Location: House of BioHealth, Luxembourg
Type: Full time
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of miniaturized robotic arms and manipulators specifically tailored for microgravity environments, focusing on precision and stability.
Program robotic systems to perform high-throughput drug screening tasks autonomously, ensuring reliable and repeatable operations in a microgravity setting.
Utilize ROS and Gazebo to create detailed simulations of robotic behavior in microgravity, optimizing movement patterns and stability before deployment to the ISS.
Work with cross-functional teams to integrate robotic systems with other components of the high-throughput drug screening platform.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to robotic operation, both during simulations and on hardware prototypes.
Prepare detailed documentation of designs, simulations, and test results for internal review and collaboration with external partners, including space agencies.
Requirements:
(Preferably) At least five years of experience as a robotics/mechatronics engineer.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in programming robotic arms using languages like Python and C++, with a focus on automation and control.
Experience with ROS for developing and controlling robotic systems and Gazebo for simulating robotic operations.
Ability to interpret and apply standards in the design and development process.
Experienced in trouble-shooting and hands-on applications.
Strong skills in preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including drawings, assembly instructions, and engineering reports.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Possess the legal right to work in Luxembourg (visa, residency, or work permit).
(Advantageous but not required) Experience working in the space industry, particularly with ISS standards.
