We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to join our Europe Legal & Compliance Team.
This is a pivotal role that will support the businesses on a range of risk and compliance matters in Europe with a key focus on Operations and the Marsh & Mercer Service Centres.
In this role you will report to the Europe Chief Compliance Officer and will work closely with the Europe General Counsel and senior leaders throughout the organisation.What can you expect?To join a truly global organisation that can offer excellent training and career development opportunitiesA growing highly skilled Legal & Compliance team that strive to ensure the business is achieving best practiceWhat will you be rewarded with?Our employees enjoy excellent benefits such as:Competitive salary with annual reviewUp to 12% pension contributionFull healthcare coverStudy SupportFlexitime or flexistartFlexible working/work from homeSports & Social clubs/Wellness ProgrammePaid annual leave and ability to purchase additional leave daysTravel ticket/bike to work/dental are optionalSubsidised canteenWe will rely on you to:Identify and assess key risks within the organization and develop strategies to mitigate them effectivelyMaintain and update top risks and risk registers and develop meaningful MI to ensure accurate and up-to-date information and reporting to key stakeholders including the Europe Risk CommitteeDesign and enhance controls to minimise risk exposure and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirementsProvide guidance, support and advice to the business and operations teams on potential risks and a range of risk and compliance mattersOversee outsourcing activities, ensuring strong governance and oversight to maintain the highest standardsCollaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement risk management policies and proceduresConduct regular risk assessments and reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actionsPromote and train the business/operations on the 'Three Lines of Defence' ensuring ownership and a strong risk culture within the first lineParticipate in, and contribute to, global and regional projects ensuring risk and compliance aspects are adequately consideredStay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, industry best practices and internal requirements to ensure continued complianceWhat you need to have: University Degree or recognised industry accreditationMinimum 10 years' experience in a senior Risk/Compliance role, ideally in the Insurance IndustryKnowledge of regulatory requirements impacting the business e.g.
IDD, AML, Privacy, DORACapable of building strong stakeholder relationships across the companyStrong organisational skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience of writing and delivering training to multiple audiencesHighly motivated and enthusiasticStrong team player, willing to step in and support the team as and when requiredSelf-starter with the ability to prioritise workload and to work under pressureCommercial awarenessWhat makes you stand out:Experience providing advice on complex risk & compliance matters to senior managementProject management experienceExperience rolling out new policies and proceduresAnalytical skills including good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and experience analysing data and creating reportsYou will be supporting Marsh McLennan's Marsh and Mercer Companies About MMC: (NYSE: MMC) is the world's leading professional services firm in the areas of risk, strategy and people.
