Residence Manager

DIPLOMATIC MISSION IS RECRUITING

The U.S. Ambassador (Chief of Mission) in Lisbon is seeking an experienced Residence Manager for the official residence in Lisbon. The successful candidate will be a personal employee of the American Diplomat, responsible for hands-on management of the Residence and four staff members.

Main duties include, but not limited to:
- Working closely with Ambassador and spouse on all household matters;
- Providing direct supervision of four household staff including one chef and three housekeeping employees;
- Ensuring performance standards are met among all staff by providing feedback and evaluation;
- Tracking/managing staff work schedule;
- Providing Portuguese/English interpretation and translation services;
- Managing all household repairs working closely with the Embassy ensuring repairs are made and stocks in order;
- Managing finances and accounts of the residence with the responsibility of staff payroll, preparing official residence expenses;
- Responsible for events at the residence working closely with Embassy offices and residence staff members;
- Organizing guest stays at the residence;
- Helping with formal correspondence, and maintaining files on official functions;
- Assisting the Ambassador and spouse with tasks and duties related to the official functioning of the Residence.
