We are looking for a qualified Laboratory Research Assistant to join our team in the Development of advanced topical and transdermal drug delivery systems project of the Health From Portugal Agenda, under the PRR framework. Job Duties The job duties will be the following: Assist research activities related to the synthesis of nanoparticles, nanocarriers and nanoformulations; Perform technical physico-chemical analysis and characterisation of developed products; Perform advanced functional magnetic characterisation of developed products; Cell culture and biological assays; Regular progress reportwriting and presentation; Attend consortium meetings. Mandatory Qualifications Education MSc in Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent. Experience +2 years of experience as research assistant/technician; Experience in nanotechnology/nanomedicine research; Hands on experience on synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials (e.G., magnetic NPs, nanocomposites, silica NPs); Experience on the functionalisation of nanostructures (w proteins/enzymes); Experience with advanced physicochemical characterisation technologies (i.E., TEM, SEM, ICP, TGA, HPLC, VSM, SQUID); Hands on experience on MRI, relaxometry and magnetic hyperthermia; Previous participation in collaborative national, international and/or industrial research projects; Experience with molecular biology techniques (e.G., genetic material extraction, transfection, PCR). Preferred Qualifications Hands on experience with cell culture, 2D/3D in vitro models and in vitro characterisation assays; Experience with drug delivery systems; Experience with the implementation of Safety protocols and procedures in Chemistry/Biology oriented labs.
