Offer Description The University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) opens a call for one (1) Research Grant for 1 student, in Sports Sciences/Computer Engineering, in the frame of the R&D project Research Center for Sports Sciences, Health and Human Development (UIDB/04045/2020) with the financial support of FCT – Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., under the following conditions:

Admission requirements:
Master's degree in the areas of Sports Sciences, Computer Engineering, or related fields (mandatory requirement);
Experience in research involving large databases;
Participation as an author or co-author in scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals related to the work plan's areas;
Compliance with the provisions of the FCT Research Grant Regulations (Regulation No. 950/2019).
Work plan:
Description of the state of the art in Artificial Intelligence applied to Sports (variables with predictive potential for the identification and development of sports talents and performance analysis in team sports);
Use of Artificial Intelligence to support the decision-making process of technical teams;
Extensive dissemination of the work carried out within the regions influenced by CIDESD.
Workplace: The work will be developed at the CIDESD of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, under the scientific guidance of Professor António Jaime da Eira Sampaio and Professor Nuno Miguel de Carvalho Mateus.
Duration of scholarship: The fellowship will last for 12 months, and it is expected to start in December 2024. The scholarship contract may be renewed, and the total duration may not exceed 36 months.
Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The scholarship amount corresponds to €1259,64 according to the table of scholarships awarded directly by the FCT, I.P. in the country. The period of payment of the scholarship is monthly and through bank deposit, check, or another equivalent method.
