Research Fellowship (RF) under the project "Advanced Multimodal Marketplace for Low Emission and Energy Transportation - ADMIRAL"
We announce the opening of a call for awarding a research fellowship (RF) under the project "Advanced Multimodal Marketplace for Low Emission and Energy Transportation - ADMIRAL".
3 – Financing source:
4 – Scientific area: Civil Engineering (Transportation Engineering) and related areas, e.g., Computer and Computing Engineering applied to transportation.
5 – Duration: The Grant shall be awarded for a 12-month period, renewable up to:
The duration of the project; or
32 months.
6 – Reserve list: A reserve selection list shall be set up for a 6-month period from the date of the final decision of this call.
7 – Activity Regime: All work will be developed under an exclusive dedication regime, as established in the Scientific Research Fellow Statute.
8 - Work plan and objectives: The research fellow is expected to contribute to the implementation of tasks coordinated by the Transportation Department, focusing on freight transport planning (modelling) tasks and the application of data science methods, including:
Contribution to modelling sustainability for smart logistics;
Integration in a multilevel model of key performance indicators aiming at sustainability;
Traffic forecasting and CO2 emissions.
9 - Location: Workplace: LNEC – National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, I.P., Portugal. Activities shall be conducted at the Transportation Department of LNEC, with the possibility of temporary missions in Portugal.
10 - Qualifications: Eligible candidates must hold a PhD in civil engineering (transport engineering) or related areas obtained in the last five years, showing motivation in research tasks. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
11 – Scientific supervision: Activities will be supervised by Dr. Elisabete M. Mourinho Arsénio Guterres de Almeida from the Transportation Department of LNEC.
12 - Monthly allowance: The Grant includes a monthly allowance of €1,801.00, along with social security and insurance against personal accidents at work.
13 - Selection methods and criteria: Applications will be evaluated based on the Applicant's Merits (MC) with criteria scored on a 0 to 20 scale:
Academic Background (PA) – 35%
Interview with the selection jury (ES) – 35%
MC = (0.35 * PA) + (0.30 * CP) + (0.35 * ES)
The jury may decide not to award the Grant if the quality of the applicants is below the required level (MC = 14).
