NoOffer DescriptionANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE AWARD OF A RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPResearch Fellowship (1 vacancy)CEB-BI-53-2024A call for applications is now open for the attribution of one research grant within the scope of the R&D project, ASCLEPIUS: Advancing scientific collaboration in phage therapy for treating Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus, financed by HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-02-0, under the following conditions:Scientific Area: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Biochemistry or related areas.Recipient category: Masters enrolled in a non-degree course or doctoral program.Requirement for granting the fellowship:The applicants may apply without prior registration in the course for which the fellowship is open. The requirement to enroll in a degree course or non-academic degree course will be verified on the date of contracting the fellowship.Only fellowships whose selected applicants present a valid proof of enrollment in a degree course or non-academic degree course will be contracted.Mandatory requirements:Master degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Biochemistry or related areas.Requirements in the contracting phase:Indicate enrollment in an academic or non-academic degree course integrated in the educational project of the University of Minho.Present proof of academic qualifications completed by the application deadline.Preferred factors: Research experience in microbiology and virology, particularly in studies of interaction between bacteriophages and hosts and in interaction between bacteriophages and biofilms.Applicants eligibility: Applicants must comply with the eligibility conditions laid down in article 9 of the Research Grants Regulation of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2019).Workplan and objectives to be achieved: The work plan includes isolation, characterization and deposition of therapeutic phages, organization of the phage collection, authentication and quality control of collection phages, development of phage preservation methods and interaction studies between bacteriophages and bacterial biofilms.Fellowship duration: The grant will take place for a period of twelve months, with a provisional starting date on February 2025.Amount of the research grant: The value stipend (Monthly Maintenance Allowance) is 1259,64€ per month
