Overview
The Alfaro-Moreno Research Group is dedicated to excellence in scientific research on developing methods to assess the toxicity and safety of nanomaterials, evaluating effects on humans and the environment. We aim to evaluate cytotoxic, genotoxic, inflammation, local and systemic effects, and in silico analysis while upholding the highest standards of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
We are looking for a qualified Research Fellow to join our team under the NEP project with the code 2000224.
Job Duties
The job duties will be the following:
To explore the mechanisms behind the effects of nanomaterials in simple and complex human-based in vitro models;
To help in the development of new methods for nanotoxicology;
Analysing, interpreting, and reporting results.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
PhD in Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related fields.
Experience
Experience with mammalian cell culture – preference will be given to advanced and human-based models;
Experience with assessment of safety of nanoparticles (e.g., effects on cellular metabolism, membrane disruption, cytotoxicity).
Other Skills
Ability to critically interpret results and propose solutions for challenges posed by nanomaterials to conventional toxicological assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with nanoparticle characterisation techniques will be favoured;
Previous experience with/knowledge of electrochemistry is a plus;
Knowledge of GLP principles will be valued.

How the Selection Process works
A. Applications eligibility check
