Anna de Sommer Champalimaud e Dr. Carlos Montez Champalimaud), a private, non-profit research institution in Lisbon, Portugal, is looking for a Research Assistant to join our team at the Champalimaud Research Programme. The selected candidate will assist postdocs and PhD students with data analysis. The research assistant will be involved in tasks such as: Data analysis; Code writing for data analysis of calcium imaging and behavioral data; Developing, testing, and implementing scientific software, i.E., reproducible analysis pipelines and data storage for open science; Writing supporting materials and documentation for code and data dissemination. Research Fields: Biological sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer science, Data science or Neurosciences Required Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Neuroscience, or similar areas. Essential Skills: Solid programming skills, preferably in Python and Matlab; Experience with Python libraries (e.G., NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and pandas); Background in data science and statistics with preferred research experience with statistical analysis on a large volume of data; Interest in systems neuroscience; Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently; Team spirit, reliability, and sense of responsibility; Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought; Fluency in scientific English is indispensable, both in written and oral expression. Desirable Skills: Practical research experience in Neuroscience. FELASA course to work with laboratory animals; Experience with in vivocalcium imaging data analysis (e.G., CNMFE) Experience in behavioral experiments and surgeries in mice (e.G., stereotaxic injections in mice).
