For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for an R&D Electronics Engineer to support product development, overseeing all aspects with end-to-end ownership through the design life-cycle from concept to production release, including architecture, design, implementation, testing, certification, and manufacturing.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE: Providing a high quality and proactive service to both internal and external customers.As an electronic design engineer, you will communicate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to analyze the technical requirements, translate technical requirements to design requirements, and develop architecture of the proposed hardware solutions.Specify design concept and define electronic constraints in collaboration with the whole engineering team to take into account other technical field constraints in the electronic design to ensure proper operation of the final product.Design & development of complex layouts of rigid and flexible printed circuit boards (using CAE and CAD applications & tools).Develop complex layouts following our project development process, being part of weekly meetings, preparing test plans for electronics solutions for product & process validation, with a focus on production tools for testing.Plan and execute board bring-up, engineering validation testing, and design changes to resolve problems, ensuring final products conform to design requirements related to performance, reliability, and cost.Coordination of prototype production and evaluation of industrial production approaches with internal and external partners, ensuring electronic hardware meets best-in-class standards and applicable regulations.THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING: Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.Successful experience of 5 years in the development of complex electronic hardware device architecture.Strong background in Electronics industrial design, including digital and analog circuit design, PCB design (PCBs, Flex PCBs, wiring), including component selection, schematic, layout, and production of electronic assemblies.Experience in embedded systems: microcontroller programming and knowledge in firmware and software development is desirable.Experience with radio frequency circuit design and signal processing and conditioning for low noise is desirable.Experience in V & V of hardware, software, and embedded systems, including product certification testing (Electrical safety, EMC, RF).Experience in digital circuits and layout, including I2C, SPI, RS485, Ethernet, POE, WiFi is a plus.Proficiency with PCB design tools (preferably Altium Designer) and simulation tools like SPICE.Proficient with design of microprocessor, IoT, Connectivity modules (LTE), Video compression/encoding.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.Driven, self-starter with excellent planning and organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English; French is a plus).
