Role Overview:
The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for the testing of Planet applications. This will involve verifying that the application meets the requirements set by the stakeholders. The Quality Assurance Analyst will bring a methodical approach to problem solving.
What You Will Do:
Working in an agile team to define the acceptance criteria, identify risk, and build test plan coverage for upcoming features.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts through manual and automated test cases. Records the results during release cycles through manual and automated test cases.
The QA Analyst also reviews functional and design specifications in order to ensure that there is a full understanding of individual deliverables.
The QA Analyst actively takes part in the discovery and design phases of new software/product feature development and promotes continuous testing in an attempt to guarantee an error free final product.
The QA Analyst ensures that validated deliverables always meet functional, design specifications and requirements of the software/products.
The QA Analyst maintains functional test cases as well as all other test assets, for example, data validation scripts and test data.
The QA Analyst maintains metrics on testing, bug rates, root causes, etc.
The role is also a collaborative one and the Quality Assurance Analyst works with software/product developers in driving issue resolution.
Work with software/product development teams in ensuring that high quality and timely releases of software/products into market are realized.
The Quality Assurance Analyst maintains knowledge of the industry best practices, introducing the most suitable practices to the business.
Who You Are:
Experienced in taking ownership of tasks, commitments, quality, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented team player with a desire to work on a small team and mentor team members when necessary.
Able to efficiently break down problems and leverage business resources to establish a clear path toward customer value despite the presence of ambiguity.
A solid foundation in software engineering – bachelor's degree preferred with 3+ years of experience.
Familiar with Quality Processes and Agile Methodologies using industry standards of software QA tools.
Experience in Web Software, ideally in the Java Spring world.
Experience with load and performance testing tools like JMeter is a plus.
Knowledge about Software development lifecycle and test processes/flows.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins) and source control systems (GIT).
Knowledge of payments systems ideally in the acquiring space is a plus.
