We are looking for a well-qualified and talented teacher of Psychology to join our team in August 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspire and Motivate Students: Build trust and confidence in students, colleagues, and parents, while fostering a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and engagement in psychology.
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP Psychology curricula, ensuring students grasp key psychological theories and concepts.
Tailor Learning to Individual Needs: Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, ensuring each student is supported in achieving their potential in the subject.
Effective Classroom Management: Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline, fostering a productive and safe learning environment.
Use of Assessments: Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure students meet challenging academic targets.
Pastoral Support: Promote student well-being by addressing both academic and personal needs, and collaborating with other staff to support student welfare.
Promote School Values: Contribute to the wider aspirations and values of the school, aligning teaching with the school's goals for development and success.
Engage in Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in psychology and education, engaging in professional learning to continuously improve teaching practices.
Participate in Extra-Curricular Activities: Support the school community by participating in trips, events, and extracurricular activities that enrich the student experience.
Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with colleagues and communicate regularly with parents and other stakeholders about student progress and well-being.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: A relevant degree in Psychology or a related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
Experience teaching Psychology at the secondary level, including familiarity with the GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP curricula.
Proven ability to engage and motivate students, fostering a passion for psychological studies and encouraging critical thinking.
Strong classroom management skills, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment where students thrive.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and well-being.
Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning, making use of modern tools and resources to create engaging lessons.
Commitment to continuous professional development, staying updated with current trends in psychology and education to ensure best teaching practices.
Experience in contributing to school improvement plans, demonstrating involvement in broader school development beyond the classroom.
A passion for extra-curricular activities, such as trips, clubs, or psychology-related projects that enrich the student learning experience.
A proactive approach to student well-being and safeguarding, ensuring the academic and personal growth of all students.
