Who You'll Work With You'll be part of our Strategy & Corporate Finance (S&CF) team and will be based in Lisbon. As the Proposal Senior Analyst, you will work closely with the S&CF hub manager to support on priority proposal opportunities and white space client development situations. McKinsey's Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice focuses on driving growth and impact with clients across all industry sectors. The practice advises clients on top-management level issues including corporate strategy and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances, business due diligence, value-based management, ESG strategy, and strategy in IPO situations. We close the gap between corporate finance and strategy to have significant impact on the client business and the top-management agenda.
Your impact within our firm You will be a key member of the S&CF Client Development Hub – which is primarily EMEA-focused, but also supporting efforts globally or in other regions as appropriate. This role is a unique blend of strategy, operations, content expertise, stakeholder management, communications/design, and project management. Specifically, you will:
Facilitate the proposal document and process; lead significant workstreams with increasing independence.
Create timely and high-quality proposal content, gather feedback, and own cadence of iterations.
Lead the navigation of the proposal process and help CSTs implement best practices.
Upskill quickly on client context, embed within the CST, and independently create compelling proposal documents, materials, and experiences.
Where applicable, own research and analyses to inform key hypotheses/insights and customize proposal for client.
Seek opportunities to bring the best of the firm's broader capabilities and expertise (e.g., C&I) into proposals.
Upskill quickly on S&CF and M&A capabilities/offerings and also industry/sector knowledge during and outside proposals to help shape content proactively.
Adhere to relevant procedures (e.g., file structure, archive, backup) for all proposal materials and processes.
Prepare templates, compliance matrices, close-out activities, and/or other administrative elements throughout proposal development based on submission requirements.
Identify opportunities, and support creation and continuous improvement of Proposal Services assets (playbooks, tools, templates, best practice examples, reference cases, capability-building, etc.).
Your qualifications and skills University degree.
3+ years of experience in a client services setting, with experience in one or more of: S&CF/M&A topics (Strategy, M&A, Finance and capital markets, Growth and innovation etc.), client development, business development, proposal management, communications.
Basic understanding of professional services client development.
Proven project management skills.
Strong conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills.
Excellent communications skills in English, written and verbal (e.g., ability to synthesize and convey complex information clearly and compellingly).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel).
Results-oriented; entrepreneurial and self-driven.
Collaborative; able to build relationships and influence stakeholders across roles and levels.
High professional and ethical standards and respect for confidentiality.
