Vestas Technology & Operations > Aerodynamic & Mechanical > Gearbox The Powertrain Module in Vestas Power Solutions is responsible for developing the complete Vestas powertrain for both onshore and offshore wind turbines. The module consists of 3 design submodules: Lubrication & MBA (Main Bearing Arrangement), Gearbox, and Generator. The Gearbox submodule is responsible and accountable for the Gearbox design solutions, provided by our Gearbox suppliers, and the integration of the Gearbox into the Powertrain. We focus on providing solutions that will reduce the cost of energy faster than the market. We are working on creative solutions for customized offerings to our customers in order to participate in proficient and emerging markets with complex local content demands.
The Gearbox submodule is a truly global team with main locations in Dortmund (Germany), Porto (Portugal), and Chennai (India).

Responsibilities Responsible for the operational planning and maintenance of the sub-module execution together with the Functional Leads (FL), Tech Lead (TL), and Designer.Facilitate sprint planning meetings as Sub Module SCRUM master.Support on the C-level plan preparation (know the project scope, B-level plan, task delivery date, etc.) and maintain the project delivery framework (ADS, task, task descriptions, standard delivery list).Maintain project execution dashboards within different systems (JIRA, ECM, SAP PPM, PowerBI).Responsible for maintaining and reporting the project status for the sub-module.Convey information between project and sub-module project team.Support functional reviews and other relevant project meetings.Responsible for ensuring that project risks are collected and communicated.Support on risk communication by means of mitigation plans within the sub-module.Support the Sub Module Owner (SMO) on strategic initiatives reaching department goals and KPIs.Support SMO with ad hoc department assignments/tasks.Maintain SAP PPM for resource and demand handling.Maintain Sub Module Gearbox confluence page.Facilitate Sub Module meetings e.g., Technical and Functional Lead forums.Conduct lessons learned sessions on sub-module level.Qualifications B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Industry experience within design (R&D).Proficiency in Project Management.Good technical understanding.Experience with budgeting and resource management.Experience in cross-functional team leadership and working with stakeholders.Ability to create detailed Gantt charts, flow diagrams, and technical documentation.Specific work experience within the wind industry is beneficial but not required.Ability to work and take on multiple priorities.Fluency in English.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Project management toolbox.PMP certification or SCRUM master is beneficial but not required; Software's MS Project and Jira.ERP competence, e.g., SAP.Quality development tools (requirements, DFMEA, verification, validation).What we offer We offer an exciting job in a creative and international environment.
