Overview
The Salomé Research Group is dedicated to upscaling of nanotechnology in energy and optoelectronic devices. The current group portfolio consists of 3 National, 3 European and 2 Industrial service projects in a team of close to 30 researchers. These projects are helping Portugal, Iberia and Europe to incorporate nanotechnology in a multitude of applications and to increase our understanding of nanotechnology. The group interacts with an assortment of partners, from academia to the industry including policy makers and state officials. Our mission is to revolutionize energy and optoelectronic devices through cutting-edge nanotechnology.
We are looking for a project assistant to join our team. The role involves supporting procurement, budget management, communication, reporting, and small coordination tasks for projects NGS, R2U and ATE, funded by the PRR framework and other industrial contracts.

Job Duties
The job duties will be the following:
Procurement & Resource Management: Manage procurement processes and resource allocation.
Meeting Coordination & Scheduling: Organize and facilitate project meetings, team events and laboratory activities, ensuring follow-up on action items.
Reporting & Documentation: Assist the research team in preparing detailed reports and documentation on project progress and financial status.
Budget Management Support in collaboration with INL's Project Finance Management Office: Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, etc.
Communication & Liaison: Facilitate communication across project teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
Degree or MSc in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in project management or coordination within a research or scientific environment is preferred. However, candidates with less experience but high potential will also be considered.
Proven track record in coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and ensuring action items are addressed.
Familiarity with financial procedures and compliance for government, European, and industrial funding.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint) for reports, presentations, and documentation.
Competent in using communication tools such as Microsoft Teams for meetings and team collaboration.
Proficiency in financial tools and software like Microsoft Excel (advanced functions including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
Other Skills
Excellent communication skills in English are required since it´s the working language of INL.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management, Financial Management, or a related field.
Certification: Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar ones.

How the Selection Process works
A. Applications eligibility check
This stage will be carried out on the basis of the mandatory requirements, education, experience and technical skills defined for the job, as well as the validation of the mandatory documents. Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will move forward to the next stage.
B. CV Assessment
The Selection Committee will evaluate the eligible applications based on their CV and other submitted documents and the suitability for the position. The best ranked candidates will be shortlisted for the interview stage(s).
C. Interview(s)
The interview(s) may be done in different formats: video recording, online or onsite.
The question based interview will evaluate the match between the candidate's profile and the requirements for the position, including the technical and personal skills. To better support this stage, the candidate may be requested to prepare a short presentation.
D. Nomination
The selected candidate will be nominated and formally offered the position, including the disclosure of the contractual conditions.
