Freelance Product OwnerJanuary start - 12 month duration Fully remote Key tasks and purpose of the roleProduct Owner having an engineering background, (be it front-end or back-end).
Depth of knowledge on how to build front-end applications with backend APIs.
Understands the impact of UX/UI design.
Have deep knowledge on Software Engineering.
Have deep knowledge in software development life cycle (SDLC), and security by design.
Ability to prioritize, manage expectations and various stakeholders.
Good communication skills (Good English).
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables - Product Management:Act as the bridge between stakeholders, engineering, and UX/UI teams to define product features, prioritize the backlog, and drive execution of product goals.Leverage your engineering background to ensure technical feasibility and guide the development of both frontend and backend systems.
Collaborate with engineers to design and implement scalable and maintainable products.Understand the impact of user experience and interface design on product success.
Work with design teams to ensure intuitive and efficient user experiences.Advocate for security best practices and ensure that security principles are considered at every stage of the product development cycle.Manage expectations and align priorities with various internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, design, marketing, and leadership teams.Collaborate with leadership to define product roadmaps, making data-driven decisions to prioritize features based on business needs and technical constraints.Promote a culture of continuous improvement in both processes and product quality by gathering feedback, analyzing product performance, and driving innovation.Required Skills & Competencies:Engineering Background: Strong experience in software development, with a preference for candidates with a history in frontend development.Front-End Expertise: Proficient in building front-end applications using modern technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks like React or Angular), and knowledgeable in integrating with backend APIs.Understanding of SDLC: In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) practices.UX/UI Sensitivity: Strong understanding of how UX/UI design impacts user satisfaction and product usability.Security by Design: Familiarity with security principles and practices to ensure products are built with security in mind from day one.Product Ownership: Demonstrated ability to own the product lifecycle from concept to delivery, including backlog management, prioritization, and feature definition.Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Fluent in English: High level of proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage with various teams, manage expectations, and align goals to ensure successful product delivery.Previous experience as a Frontend Developer.Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
