Our digital platform delivers scalable and verifiable sexual reproductive health services for young people in 5 main markets in Sub Saharan Africa - Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa and Burkina Faso. We work together with local communities and use nudges like reminders, discounts, and reward points to encourage our users to access and use sexual and reproductive health services. We also support our users in becoming micro-entrepreneurs and adding value to their economies.

We are open to remote work for this position and will happily accept applicants from anywhere in Kenya, South Africa and Portugal.

The Job

We are looking for a Data Product Manager reporting to the Director of Product (data). The successful candidate will be tasked with the development, implementation, and management of data-related products. This role is instrumental in defining our data strategy, promoting a data-driven culture, and ensuring data is effectively utilized for business decisions.

Responsibilities - Will include but not limited to:

Develop a comprehensive strategy for data products that aligns with our business objectives and create and maintain data product roadmaps.

Engage with key stakeholders to ensure data product development aligns with organizational goals.

Monitor key performance indicators to assess the success and impact of data products.

Encourage collaboration across various teams, including data analysts, data engineering, machine learning, and business units, to enhance data product development.

Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to maintain our competitive edge and understand the influence of data products on our performance.

About you

You are an outside-the-box thinker, and are, therefore, able to develop a vision of what a part of Tiko's product should look like and represents the end-user needs to the Data teams in order to achieve our vision.

Requirements:

4+ years of experience being a Data Product Manager, for local, remote, and contracted partners in a distributed team.

Strong expertise in process engineering, process flow design, and documentation, with a focus on data structure/architecture, UX/UI (User Experience/User Interface), and design best practices.

Exposure to developing CRM applications, including setting up governance, best practices, standards, and change management processes.

Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

Deep understanding of digital platforms and their ability to address user needs.

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convincingly present ideas to diverse audiences.

The rewards

At Tiko we believe in being open, also when it comes to salaries. The gross monthly salary bracket for this position is €2,851 - €4,277 in Portugal, R65 000 - R95 000 in South Africa, and Ksh322,823 - Ksh484,234 in Kenya, plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
