Position: Product Failure Analysis Lab Technician
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic, results-driven individual to join our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities
Identify and analyse electrical defectsParticipate in multidisciplinary teams to identify and solve problemsContact development or external labs to identify the root causeTesting of large-scale structures and components in simulated service conditionsStatic tension/compression testingSupport customer returns, qualifications, and other engineering evaluations that require failure analysisPerform non-destructive analysis such as optical visual inspection and microscopyPerform destructive analysis such as soldering/desoldering, lead conditioning, deballing/reballing, mechanical/chemical decapsulation, package/die level deprocessing, cross-sectioning, and other FA techniques available in the laboratoryPerform electrical verification using curve tracer and basic bench testingPerform open/short full failure analysis with guidancePerform fault isolation procedures with guidanceExecute die level physical failure analysis procedures with guidanceGenerate failure analysis reports using Failure Analysis databases and create presentations using Microsoft Office applicationsWork closely with FA engineer and customer to meet and improve the response timeMeet and drive improvements on failure analysis key performance indicatorsMay develop and implement new failure analysis methods if necessaryObserve proper and responsible use of all FA laboratory equipment, hardware's, consumables, and workstations and report any problem encountered timelyFA focal person responsible for tools/equipment 5S and improvements and coordination with equipment group for consumables & spare parts procurements, repair, and maintenanceComply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standardsComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations Code of Ethics, Practice and ScheduleRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rulesRespect and comply with environmental policy rulesPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of service.Education & Experience
