It is here that we lay Vestas' technical- and technological foundation for staying the global leader in sustainable energy solutions by continuously reducing the Levelized Cost of Energy. Through innovation, development, and continuous product improvement, we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. The Generator submodule consists of approx. 23 skilled employees, situated at our main locations in Denmark, Germany, and Portugal. The department is accountable for the Generator submodule, converting the mechanical energy from the wind turbine rotor and drivetrain into raw electrical power. We have an immediate opening for a Generator specialist, responsible for delivering advance technology- and new product developments within the Generator submodule. Activities hereunder involve all facets of product development, from early feasibility studies and preparation of concepts to detailed product design and verification. This aspect requires a candidate who possesses good communication- and stakeholder management skills, and a distinct ability to deliver technical projects forward.ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include development of advance technology-, new submodule- and component developments following Vestas's project frameworks, processes, and stage/gate models. You will work with advanced engineering tools and in teams with project managers, technical experts, and members of the value chain. You will provide technical project leadership throughout all stages of the projects.Main activities under this responsibility will include:Define technical scope and break it down into work packages.Align deliverables and deadlines with relevant stakeholders.Plan work package execution in JIRA together with development team.Balance trade-offs in generator design against targets on performance, quality, and cost.Prepare and deliver peer reviews and technical reviews.Quality assurance of technical solutions.Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues within the agreed project scope.Manage stakeholders and interfacing systems/components.QualificationsM. Sc./B. Sc. in Mechanical or Electromechanical engineering5-7 years of proven experience in product development (desirable within drive technology).Experienced in handling complex problems in global project organizations.Good English language skills (speaking and writing) are required.Knowledge of six-sigma/system engineering tools, e.g., requirement management and DFMEAWork experience within global matrix organizations or within wind industry is a valuable asset.Knowledge of product cost basis, planning, and value chain processes.A good technical understanding.You are enthusiastic, resilient, result oriented, and have a good sense of responsibility.You can plan and delegate your work and assist, guide, and motivate members of the team.You have a deep understanding of stakeholder management.You acknowledge the importance of business processes, including engineering change management.What we offerYou will be a front figure within sustainable energy solutions, and you will get the chance to make an impact on the green agenda with innovative solutions.
