The role: As the Head of Product Design, you will drive the design vision and execution for RedCloud's multi-product open-commerce platform, ensuring it meets the unique needs of a diverse, global audience.
Leading a team of talented designers, you will shape intuitive and scalable solutions tailored to users across Africa, Latin America, North America and beyond.
Responsibilities: Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing product design team, fostering collaboration across multiple geographies and time zones.Cultivate a culture of design excellence while supporting the growth and development of team members.Build and maintain a strong alignment between the design team's objectives and the company's broader mission.Design Strategy & Global Execution:
Define and implement a global design strategy that adapts to the specific cultural, economic, and technological contexts of users in Africa and the Americas.Create user-centred designs that reflect the needs and preferences of diverse markets, ensuring accessibility and usability across all geographies.Develop and scale design systems to ensure consistency across a portfolio of products.Collaboration & Influence:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Regional Operations, to ensure product designs align with the diverse needs of our international customer base.Act as a design advocate, presenting concepts and strategies to leadership and stakeholders to secure buy-in and support.Research & Insights:
Leverage user research and market insights to inform design decisions, ensuring products resonate with regional audiences.Incorporate feedback from customers in emerging markets to refine and optimise user experiences.Operational Excellence:
Establish scalable design processes that enhance collaboration and improve efficiency across global product teams.Use analytics and performance data to iterate on designs and ensure measurable improvements in user experience.Requirements: Proven track record of leading design teams working on multi-product SaaS platforms targeted at global audiences, with a particular focus on Africa and LATAM.Strong portfolio showcasing experience in designing user-centred products for diverse, international markets, addressing cultural and technological nuances.Expertise in UX/UI design, with skills in user research, interaction design, prototyping, and usability testing.Proficiency in tools like Figma, FigJam, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar platforms.Demonstrable experience building and managing scalable design systems for multiple products.Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.Preferred Skills: Experience designing for regions with varying levels of connectivity and device capabilities, such as Africa and LATAM.Familiarity with localisation strategies and designing for multilingual interfaces.Basic knowledge of coding (HTML, CSS) to better collaborate with engineering teams.Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is desirable but not essential.Even if you don't meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
