This is where strategic planning and financial management, sustainable practices and technological innovation, risk assessment and human resources converge to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.About your future Team Galp is looking for a Process Safety Specialist that will report to directly to the Head of Corporate Safety and will be responsible for championing Process Safety implementation and assurance in the company.How will your day-to-day look like:Contribute to the evolving vision of the importance of Process Safety, and the Company's on-going commitment with Process SafetyManage and give guidance to all the company in all matters concerning process / technical safety.Understand and establish a constructive and collaborative working relationship with the Assets and Projects Team that ensure Asset Integrity and Process Safety.Support and contribute to ensure that the company meets all the Regulatory requirements and best practices with respect to Process Safety.Develop, recommend, and implement programs and procedures that will ensure recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of potential major accidents based on Recognized And Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEPs), including those from entities as CONCAWE, IOGP, EPSC, EI, CCPS, API, ISO, etc.Support the development of Process Safety Dashboards.Lead or contribute to technical investigations that have resulted from serious incidents, actual or potential, using recognized techniques for deep investigations as Tripod Beta, Root Cause Analysis, etc.Seek and recommend initiatives that can promote the reduction of the level of risk exposure with respect to the principle of ALARP. Additionally, should be able to assistthose Assets and Projects that need guidance to maintain the key elements of the company's Asset Integrity & Process Safety Management (AIPSM) Framework (e.g., SCEs identification and management, Permit to Work Practices and JSAs, Safe Isolation Systems, Hazard Identification and Risk Analysis, Fire/Explosion Risk and Control, etc.).Advise and promote foruns/ workshops for Assets and Projects within the company on key strategies and actions to take to achieve Process Safety and Corporate Standard objectives.Ensure that all Assets and Projects keep abreast of developments that can enhance the level of Process Safety and Asset Integrity through the introduction of improved tools and techniques, including coaching with other Safety Specialists (when needed).Develop and review corporate internal standards applied in the company related to AIPSM Framework, including regulation compliances and internationally recognized standards adherence.Support audits, gap assessments and action plans on Assets, Projects and Organizational Units associated with corporate internal standards and process safety initiatives.Provide training associated with corporate internal standards and initiatives related to AIPSM Framework.Lead or contribute to the management of change process, participating and assisting in the studies and assessments, when necessary.Advise on the areas of studies, assessments, and investigations (considered as critical), assured through audit.Be active within Technical/Process Safety forums and bodies so that the company is exposed to current, up to date new developments, that can assist in risk reduction within the framework of ALARP in a proportionate way (e.g. CONCAWE, IOGP, EPSC, EI, CCPS, API, ISO, etc.)Support the development and execution of a process to share the lessons learnt from incidents that have happened in the industry and promote the communication of those lessons within the company.What makes you unique:Fluent English and PortugueseFluent to communicate in Spanish is preferableAcademic background in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering) or physical science discipline10+ years of relevant experienceExperience addressing process safety like refineries, offshore production installations, parks, and terminal.Skills in Oil & Gas process and technology, equipment, and instrumentation systemsExperience as facilitator on Hazard Identification and Risk Analysis, using recognized techniques as HAZID/HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA.Mandatory knowledge and experience as Bow tie facilitatorSpecialized training and certification on Process Safety is an advantage (e.g. IFP, IChemE, AIChE, EEMUA, OSHA, NEBOSH HSE, other)Knowledge and experience addressing risk management/ Hazard and Effect Management (HEMP)Experience supporting and participating of Incident Investigations, using recognized techniques for deep investigations as Tripod Beta or Root Cause AnalysisExperience with other AIPSM Framework elements as Emergency Response, Permit to Work or MOCExperience with Audits related to Process Safety Management systems/ regulationsTo have HSE basic tools training: PHAs; JSA; LOTO; H2S Awareness & Protection/SCBA; Basic Life Support/AED; Basic Fire Fighting; Work at height or Electrical safety work practicesBe familiar with internationally recognized safety standards/ best practices (e.g., API, NFPA, CCPS, OSHA PSM, IOGP, EI, EPSC) and legislation (e.g., Seveso Directive)Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent ability to communicate with peers as well as with members of managementAbility to work in a multicultural environment and determined to overcome significant challengesBe able to regularly visit installationsProficient user of MS Office.An energy company integrated in the energy sector where you can make a difference;Competitive salary and bonus;Health insurance for you and your family; Holidays, 25 days.Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)At Galp, we have the ambition to be a Human Centered Company, and for that we acknowledge our responsibility to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) by having a genuine mindset, lived on our day-to-day, in all our processes.
