Ray.BBDM is currently searching for a Process Engineer for a client in the oil & gas sector, an exploration and production (E&P) company involved in the acquisition, development, and production of oil and natural gas fields, holding majority interests in three hydrocarbon licences in Gabon, Brazil, and Namibia, and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange since 2020. This company is part of a large global Norwegian group specialising in maritime energy, transport, and floating gas infrastructure and has over 80 years of history.
The Process Engineer will be based in Lisbon and is responsible for designing, optimising, and improving oil and gas processes across various projects. This role spans the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design through basic and detailed engineering, construction, installation, and commissioning onsite. The Process Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality and safety standards. The role requires a commitment to onsite work and frequent travel to project locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization: Develop, evaluate, and optimise oil and gas processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
End-to-end Project Involvement: Participate in all project stages, from conceptual design to basic and detailed engineering, construction, installation, and commissioning onsite.
Process Troubleshooting: Identify, analyse, and resolve process-related issues to maintain optimal operation and minimise downtime during all project phases.
Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements and best practices to drive efficiency and innovation within oil and gas operations.
Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of process improvements throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, and technical reports.
Quality and Safety: Ensure that all processes adhere to quality and safety standards, conducting regular audits and assessments as needed.
Onsite Work and Travel: Commit to onsite work during construction, installation, and commissioning phases, with frequent travel to project sites both domestically and internationally.
Main Requirements:
Educational Background: A degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field, with a focus on oil and gas processes.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a proven ability to design and optimise processes across all project stages.
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is mandatory. French language skills are a plus.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of process design, optimisation techniques, and relevant engineering software specific to oil and gas (Hysys, …).
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
