They operate at scale as part of Flutter Entertainment, playing an essential role in the Group's goal of becoming the global leader in online sports betting and iGaming, developing innovative products and platforms for over 14 million monthly customers worldwide.The role:The UKI Infrastructure and Platform team provides core services to their product and technology teams to enable them to have delivery and execution independence. As a Principal Platform Engineer in the Flutter UKI Infrastructure and Platform team, your role is crucial in guiding and supporting the department, alongside critical input into the maintenance and evolution of the organization's technology infrastructure to enhance our consumers' enablement.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop new platforms and enhance existing ones to meet evolving business needs;Drive and contribute to improving processes;Identify potential areas for automation, prioritize them, and spearhead the implementation of automated solutions - "Automation First" principle;Take ownership of squad deliverables and KPIs/SLAs;Mentor to other members of the squad, actively sharing knowledge and teaching skills;Guide the technical direction of the squad;Participate in the review and enhancement of engineering practices and operational methods within squads;Own the strategic roadmap, outlining key technological directions for the team or project;Engage with and manage non-technical stakeholders, showcasing effective communication and high-level engagement;Actively communicate with others, building relationships, and influencing;Act as a consultant for other teams, providing expertise on complex technical decisions whilst respectfully challenging decisions and direction from leadership;Availability for on-call responsibilities.Your Qualifications – Must HaveExpert-level knowledge of Platform Engineering principles;Expert-level knowledge of:CDK;Kubernetes/Docker;Networking;AWS - cloud-native infrastructure;Git;Jenkins (or similar CI system);Configuration Management (Chef, Ansible);General Linux operations;Infrastructure Specific Products (Virtualization, Storage technologies, Hardware appliances).Experience with different technologies and what's suitable for any project or application;Experience leading teams, managing and mentoring engineers, and delegating tasks.What you can expect from us:Company bonus;Health insurance for you and your household;Up to 30 days of annual leave + 2 social responsibility days per year;Work abroad for up to 20 days;Innovative parental policies and baby kit for new parents;Flexible working environment;Mobile allowance - phone + data;Shares discount;Meal Allowance;Employee referral program;Learning and development tools;Partnerships and discounts.If you are passionate about sports entertainment and cutting-edge technology, and feel you have what it takes, we would love to hear from you.
