Offer Description
The recruited postdoctoral researcher will be an essential part of the collaboration between Creatis and DB-SAS/TPAC. They will work closely with the ULTIM team at Creatis and DB-SAS/TPAC members.
Their work will involve both research and implementation aspects on the 1024-channel research ultrasound system of the LabCom.
The project will include:
Get to grips with the 1024-channel ultrasound system and the Python library developed for image formation (https://ultraspy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/)
Proposing, implementing, and validating a 3D colour Doppler imaging technique on the DB-SAS/TPAC system, based on the existing 2D technique
Developing and implementing an optimization method, under physical constraints (fluid mechanics), to obtain a 3D vector field of arterial flow velocities using colour Doppler velocities
Validating this vector technique using an in vitro setup of pulsatile flow in a cylinder (Womersley flow)
Testing in other, more complex flows (e.g., aneurysm, vortex ring)
Thus, the work will alternate between methodological and software development, with experimental validation on an advanced research ultrasound imaging system.
Required Skills: The candidate must have a strong background in software development and an interest in experimentation, be autonomous, and have team spirit. Numerical analysis knowledge will be a plus to develop the optimization technique.
For candidates without prior experience in ultrasound medical imaging, experience in another relevant field (e.g., airborne acoustics, X-ray imaging, NDT, Remote Sensing, etc.) is required.
Programming Languages and skills: Python, GPU, C++, GIT (occasionally Matlab)
