Offer Description The researcher recruited will carry out his or her research within the Pure and Applied Mathematics Unit, and may collaborate in particular with the Camille Jordan Institute, with which we have strong links. The team or group to which he/she will be attached will be determined according to his/her profile.
His or her main mission will be to produce and write new scientific content in the best journals or conferences in his or her field. He or she will take part in the work of the laboratory, and in particular in the activities of his or her team (seminars, working groups). He or she may also take part in supervising student internships, while benefiting from the opportunities for missions (conferences, working meetings, summer schools, etc.) offered to laboratory members.
The UMPA laboratory (Unité de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées) is a mathematics research unit based at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon) in France. UMPA is involved in a wide range of research activities, including but not limited to analysis, geometry, probability, statistics, and the interactions of mathematics with other disciplines such as physics, computer science, and biology. The laboratory is a dynamic center for researchers, teacher-researchers, post-docs and PhD students, and regularly welcomes guest researchers from all over the world. UMPA is engaged in active collaboration with other academic institutions, both nationally and internationally, and participates in numerous research projects, seminars, workshops, and conferences in various fields of mathematics.
Contract duration: 12 months (the contract is renewable for a further 12 months subject to conditions)
