No Offer Description Applications are open for one Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship(s), within the framework of project from Centro de Química Estrutural, UIDB/00100/2020 financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC) Workplan: The work will address the design, synthesis and characterization of coordination compounds with ecological and abundant metals, namely from the first transition series (e.G., iron, copper, cobalt, zinc) and alkaline, including polynuclear complexes of metalsylsesquioxane, and their application as homogeneous and/or supported catalysts, in the activation of small molecules, including alkanes, alcohols, ketones, namely in C-H bond activation reactions, in oxidation reactions, Baeyer-Villiger, Knoevenagel condensation, among others, exploring different media (e.G., aqueous, glycerol, scCO2) as well as unconventional reaction conditions (MW, scCO2) aiming to establishing sustainable processes for the synthesis of added-value compounds. Reaction mechanisms of selected systems will also be studied, by experimental and theoretical methods. Thus, proven experience in synthesis and characterization of complexes of the mentioned types and their application in catalysis of the mentioned types is required, as well as analytical techniques of IV, multinuclear NMR, GC, and in the electrochemical technique of cyclic voltammetry Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It's expected to begin in July 2024, and may be renewed up to the maximum of 36 months, including the duration of the initial contract.
