For more than 50 years, the IUT of Nantes has been meeting the needs of the socio-economic and professional world by training middle managers and executives. The IUT strives to promote success and professional integration of students through lessons taught in small groups, varied teaching teams, cutting-edge equipment, and privileged links with companies. Research at the IUT is available at different levels, including fundamental research, technological research, and technology transfer.
Missions
We are looking for a doctor specializing in industrial engineering likely to engage in 2-year postdoctoral research. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out their research at the IUT of Nantes, La Fleuriaye campus. The position is placed under the authority of the director of the IUT of Nantes and is attached to the Research Department of the IUT of Nantes. The recruited person will also be a member of the LS2N research laboratory. The missions mainly consist of:
Take stock of the state of the art on mobile robot fleet scheduling algorithms;
Design a distributed architecture based on multi-agent systems to integrate the chosen scheduling algorithms;
Test the distributed architecture with data sets provided by the project's industrial partners.
Main activities
As part of the actions of the ANR-France 2030 "DYNALOG" funded project, focused on the management of large fleets of industrial mobile robotics, within a team also including 2 research engineers, the main activities of the recruited person will be:
Solving the problem of scheduling a fleet of mobile transport robots using operational research techniques (heuristics/meta-heuristics);
The design of a distributed architecture based on multi-agent systems to integrate the resolution method.
Test and evaluate the performance of the distributed resolution method on datasets provided by industrial partners.
Furthermore, the recruited person will be involved in complementary activities linked to the actions of the project, the laboratory and the institute:
By participating in project monitoring meetings, where progress and results obtained are presented;
By participating in the organization of communication operations around the project;
By ensuring the deployment and consistency of the models developed by the laboratory.

Skills/Qualifications
General, theoretical or disciplinary knowledge:
Proven skills in developing distributed architectures via multi-agent systems or Multi-threaded techniques
Proven skills in optimization techniques from operational research (heuristics, meta-heuristics)
General knowledge of industrial engineering, production management, scheduling, transport system.
Operational know-how:
Know how to collaborate with partners from research and industry
Know how to communicate
Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet office tools
Ability to work in a team
Sense of relationship, discernment
Languages: ENGLISH Level Good
