Offer Description The Mathematics Laboratory (LAMA) is a research unit funded by CNRS and Savoie Mont Blanc University, located on the scientific campus of Bourget-du-Lac, Savoy. The lab is organised in three research teams: EDPs2 (partial differential equations: deterministic and probabilistic studies), Géométrie (Geometry), and LIMD (Logic, Computer science, and Discrete Mathematics). This thematic diversity in one laboratory expresses the unity of Mathematics in its three components: pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and mathematical computer science. The three teams share the excellence of foundational research on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the care devoted to applications. The latter cover for instance applications to other sciences (geophysics, physics, biology, mechanics, and computer science), to other areas of mathematics (e.g., geometry applied to control theory), or to pedagogy.
The present 18 month postdoc position is part of the interdisciplinary ANR SHINE project GULI, which comprises a numerical physicist, Vincent Reverdy, and programming language theorists Tom Hirschowitz and Pierre Hyvernat, to try to design a conceptually clear solution covering all use cases.

Requirements Research Field: Mathematics
Education Level: PhD or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications:
Type theory
Category theory
Programming language theory

As a university personnel, the successful applicant will have access to the whole infrastructure (library, sports, and so on). The lab has its own, more specialised library, a seminar room, a common room, a shower, and a secure parking place for bikes. Lake Bourget is less than 2km away from the lab.
