Offer Description The hosting structure:
The Institut Curie Research Center:
The Institut Curie is a major player in cancer research, with a strong interdisciplinary tradition. It comprises a hospital and a research center with over 1,000 staff and a strong international presence, and is located in the heart of Paris, France, in a rich cultural and scientific environment.
The aim of the Institut Curie Research Center is to develop basic research and use the knowledge generated to improve cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation in the service of patients. The Institut Curie Research Center provides its researchers with 19 cutting-edge technological platforms grouped together within the CurieCoreTech network. The site has an active seminar program and regularly hosts training sessions in molecular and cellular biology.
Laboratory:
The project will be developed within the Cancer Immunotherapy Center at the Immunology Department (INSERM Unit U932), headed by Ana-Maria Lennon. Unit U932 comprises 10 independent research teams in fundamental and applied immunology, working in a highly collaborative and international environment.
The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr Claire Hivroz, who heads the "Integrative Analysis of T Cell Activation" team within U932. The team studies how intracellular signaling mechanisms regulate immune T cells responses. Their approaches are multidisciplinary, combining high-resolution fluorescence microscopy, biochemistry, cell biology and mouse models. The team has extensive expertise in the analysis of signaling pathways induced by the TCR and its co-activators or co-inhibitors, and in characterizing the immune synapse. The team's aim is to build on this expertise to identify new molecular players and test their potential as immunotherapy targets.
Missions:
In this context, the team is studying how CAR signaling differs from TCR signaling. The candidate's project will be in line with this study and will aim to:
Testing new targets to enhance the efficacy of CAR-Ts in tumor models.
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Immunology or Oncology.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
OMIC analysis (transcriptomics, proteomics).
- Expertise in animal experimentation would be a plus.
- Language skills: Fluent English and good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong team spirit and collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and creatively.
- Dynamic and curious.
All our opportunities are open to people with disabilities.
