Offer Description Study of the role of the WNK signalling pathway in the regulation of the KCC2 transporter in hippocampal interneurons and pyramidal cells.
The aim will be to develop single-molecule tracking of KCC2 in interneurons and pyramidal cells in mouse hippocampal slices.
After characterizing and comparing the mobility of KCC2 in interneurons and pyramidal cells, we will determine the dependence of these two cell types on the WNK signalling pathway using a pharmacological and genetic approach.
We will then characterize the mobility of KCC2 in the two cell types in epileptic slices (treated with 4-AP as a convulsant or in a kainate mouse model).
Finally, we will explore the functional impact of this regulation using electrophysiology.
The post-doctoral student will be based at UMR 8249 Brain Plasticity, in the team headed by Sabine Lévi. He or she will be under the supervision of Sabine Lévi.
