Offer Description
Who we are?
Télécom Paris, part of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is one of France's top 5 general engineering schools.
The mainspring of Télécom Paris is to train, imagine and undertake to design digital models, technologies and solutions for a society and economy that respect people and their environment.
We are looking for a post-doctoral student in communications, electronics and networks to work on optimizing the energy consumption of cellular communication systems in the Computer Science and Networks (INFRES) research department at Télécom Paris.
We are also looking for a post-doctoral student in stochastic network modelling in the Computer Science and Networks research department (INFRES) at Télécom Paris.
Scientific Context
Both established and in the process of being redefined, the field of performance evaluation and sizing of wireless networks is undergoing major changes. The emergence of new technologies, in particular 6G, is forcing us to redefine our modelling paradigms: from being point sensors/transmitters, communications elements are becoming integrated into surfaces and can no longer be considered as isolated points. This change represents an essential break in modelling tools.
Main Responsibilities
Conducting research into the modelling of wireless networks using stochastic geometry tools
Providing supervision and tutoring
Contributing to the reputation of the School, the Institut Mines-Télécom and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris
Job Requirements
You will have a sound theoretical knowledge and extensive practical experience in the field of probability, in particular stochastic geometry and approximation methods. You have a PhD or equivalent qualification. You have a proven ability to work as part of a team and have good interpersonal and teaching skills. You have knowledge of how wireless telecommunications networks work.
If you are motivated by stochastic network modelling and want to take on stimulating challenges, come and join us!
Why Join Us?
You'll be working in a fast-growing, pleasant, green and accessible environment (especially for people with disabilities) just 20 km from Paris (RER B and C suburban train lines, close to major roads, shared shuttle departing from Porte d'Orléans). You will benefit from:
