Offer Description The post-doc will be recruited as part of a project to develop unipolar device technology, with a particular focus on the development of metamaterial-based infrared modulators and detectors for applications such as Lidar and free-space communications. The post-doc will be responsible for drafting a pre-maturity project for the development of unipolar devices and for prototyping the devices.
Responsibilities Electromagnetic simulation of metamaterials
Clean-room fabrication of optoelectronic devices
Electro-optic characterisation of the devices and analysis of the results
Requirements Basic knowledge: quantum physics, physics of low-dimension semiconductors, physics and technology of unipolar devices
Using micro- and nano-fabrication techniques to realise semiconductor devices in a clean-room environment
Characterising electrical and optical properties of a semiconductor device
Being capable of working in an international and multicultural research group
Presenting results in written and spoken English
