Offer Description DNA methylation is a stable epigenetic mark; however, in early mammalian development, global DNA methylation levels are dramatically remodeled. The candidate will use a computational approach to discover non-conventional forms of DNA methylation-based regulation in this window of development and eventually test the epigenetic impact in cellula and in vivo.
Bioinformatics: Computational analysis of NGS-generated data sets: DNA methylation and chromatin profiling, chromosome conformation capture.
The position is open in the team of Maxim Greenberg, which is generously supported by an ERC Starting Grant to carry out studies of Chromatin Dynamics in Mammalian Development. The research is conducted within the Institut Jacques Monod, a joint CNRS - Université de Paris research unit with approximately 350 employees. The IJM is part of the INSB and is housed in a recently constructed University building on the Paris Left Bank campus located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, accessible by all means of transport (Metro 14, RER C, T3 tramway, bus 62 and 89).
We are looking for independent researchers with strong communication skills, who are open-minded and generous with their colleagues. A strong computational background is required. Familiarity with molecular genetics and mammalian cell culture would be helpful but is not required.
