We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join Trusted Family.
As a key member of our Product and Infrastructure teams, you will have a dual role that includes both maintaining our infrastructure in a healthy state as well as actively developing our backend, which is written in Ruby.
The ideal candidate is a strong platform or software engineer with extensive experience in managing cloud infrastructures, showcasing a keen interest in understanding both the intricacies of our product and the underlying codebase.
Experience with Ruby backend applications is critical for this role.
We're looking for someone who can bring their technical expertise to bear not only on infrastructure management but also on enhancing our Ruby-based systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and performant.
The role is based in Lisbon, Portugal or anywhere in Belgium, to be able to meet regularly with other team members who are based in these two locations.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop event-driven architectures, writing code for key components to support high availability and performance, ensuring seamless integration across various system components.Ensure the reliability and performance of our event-sourced systems.Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance queries and indexing strategies, using technologies like Elasticsearch, Redis and PostgreSQL, to align with business needs.Optimize the platform for performance, focusing on event processing as well as data storage and retrieval to improve user experience and system efficiency.Enhance application for security, performance, scalability, and availability.Configure and manage automated deployment pipelines.Deploy, operate, scale, and monitor applications in cloud environments such as AWS.Integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle in collaboration with the development team.Qualifications5+ years of software or platform engineering, DevOps or SREProficiency with Ruby & Node server side development and shell scriptingProficiency with Linux operating systemsProven experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Nomad), where you've contributed code for custom deployments or extensions.Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, along with service discovery frameworks such as Consul.Although we collaborate closely within our team, you can also work independently and efficiently.You're not afraid to commit yourself to goals we set together.You pride yourself in delivering quality work and know that perfect is the enemy of good.We like radical honesty when the message is delivered politely.You love giving and receiving feedback in order to grow yourself and our company.Why Join Trusted Family Now?A company that's in it for the long run.
