Platform Engineer (Azure)

We are building a world-class team and would love you to join us. As a Platform Engineer, you'll be part of an agile project team working with all the infrastructure pieces of a system. You will oversee the migration process and design, maintain, and monitor the new cloud platform, as well as configuring hybrid connectivity between on-site systems and the cloud environment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical skills and leadership ability, with the communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other members of the IT team.
The job holder is a specialist in the design, deployment, and management of cloud services within the Microsoft Azure platform. They play a critical role in ensuring that cloud infrastructure and applications are optimized for performance, scalability, and security. By leveraging Azure's suite of tools and services, these engineers enable businesses to transform their operations and innovate within the cloud ecosystem.
National and international expected traveling time varies according to project/client and organizational needs: 0%-15% estimated.
What you will be doing:Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on the Azure platform (with a clear exit strategy)Collaborating with development teams to integrate cloud services into software applicationsOptimizing resource utilization and implementing cost-saving measuresStaying current with Azure services updates and industry best practices to recommend improvements to existing architecturesProviding technical support and guidance to stakeholders on cloud-related issuesDeveloping and maintaining documentation for cloud architectures, procedures, and training materialsCollaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with business processesAnalyzing existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvementsDeveloping infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud-native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deploymentsDeveloping and implementing automated policy-driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data lossSupporting cloud adoption of applications as they are being modernized.Designing, migrating, and operating on medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases, and application systemsAvailable to participate in a 24/7 DevOps on-call rota to address and resolve technical escalationsExpertise we are looking for:Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration, and optimization of cloud platformsExperience with automating cloud deployments and configuration management using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and ARM templatesManaging and monitoring cloud infrastructures to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiencyExperience with DataOPS ensuring data protection and compliance with relevant laws and regulationsConducting disaster recovery planning and implementing backup strategies to maintain data integrity, high availability, multi-region solutions.Ensuring all infrastructure components meet proper performance, security, and capacity standardsManaging and administering the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and securityFacilitating the migration of legacy systems and existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions.Experience with IaaS and PaaS solutionsManaging security and access controls of cloud-based solutionsExperience in IaC development such as Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, Ansible.Experience with Terraform Cloud and Azure DevOpsExperience with Jira and ServiceNowCompetence in a wide range of IT skills including networking, systems administration, data protection, information security, and CI/CD toolingExperience working within an Agile frameworkWorking with GIT to perform source code managementEnthusiastic learner with the ability to teach and mentor teammates and cross-functional partnersExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detailFlexible working approach and team playerThe Things We Really Care About:Health Insurance, because health comes firstFlexible working hoursOpen holidays, take the time you need for yourselfProfit distribution for everyoneMindera Annual Trip, Sports, and sharing groups to connect and have fun!Training & conferences, create your own training planChild Care vouchersOther Good Things:Choose Laptop & Peripherals that best suit your needsHotspot with unlimited usage (PT), for work or Netflix ;)We have amazing offices in Porto, Aveiro, and Coimbra if you want to physically connect with minders.
