Position: Plant & Customer Quality Engineer
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic, results-driven individual to join as a Plant & Customer Quality Engineer at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities Supporting the Quality of the assigned productsUnderstand and ensure compliance with customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processesKeep the metrics updated that have to be reported internally or externally for the assigned productsSupport quality technicians, auditors, inspectors, and other staff and provide guidance and feedback in problem solvingSupport the start of new projects and productsImprove product quality by making recommendations for changeSupport customer visits as plant representative when requiredEnsure that incidents of assigned products are recorded and resolved in a timely mannerManage costs of the quality assurance of the assigned productsEnsure that customer portals are updated accordingly and in a timely mannerAssure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output and compare properties to requirementsReport / escalate all major quality issues to ensure immediate actionFacilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality dataKeep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentationCommunicate with external quality assurance officers and customers during on-site inspectionsPerform other duties and tasks on assigned special projects and assignments not included in the activity for which was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify itComply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standardsComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations Code of Ethics, Practice and ScheduleRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rulesRespect and comply with environmental policy rules Education & Experience Degree in EngineeringTwo or more years of experience as Plant Quality Engineer and/or Customer Quality EngineerHands-on experience with statistical analysisIn-depth understanding of technical documentationGreat attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesGood analytical skillsExcellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methodsAdditional certification in Quality Assurance (is a plus)Minitab user (is a plus)Outstanding communication skillsGood computer skillsResults OrientedInterpersonal CommunicationTeam spiritFluent in EnglishFluent in Portuguese EEO Statement
