Pursuant to the provisions of Decree-Law n. 57/2016, of August 29 , an international competition procedure for selection of a doctorate for the exercise of scientific research activities is in place, financed by European funds through European Commission (EU4Health), with the following framework and specifications:
Framework
The decision to open the recruitment procedure follows the request to open a call for hiring a junior Ph.D. researcher under the project "VAX-ACTION: TACKLING EFFECTIVELY VACCINE HESITANCY IN EUROPE";
The purpose of opening the call is to implement the evaluation plan for the interventions developed within the project, aimed at reducing vaccine hesitancy in selected European countries and thereby consolidating vaccination coverage through strengthening interactions between citizens and healthcare professionals;
The researcher to be hired is expected to: contribute to improving the implementation of the project's interventions;
support intervention implementers in the selected European countries to make necessary adjustments to intervention procedures and processes in order to increase project effectiveness;
document, monitor, and correct unforeseen effects of the interventions that might compromise the reduction of vaccine hesitancy in the selected European countries;
contribute to a space for dialogue and reflection among consortium partners to strengthen academic knowledge on vaccine hesitancy and improve decision-making in this area.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Nationals, foreigners, and stateless persons holding a PhD in Health Sciences and related fields or Social Sciences and related fields;
Applicants must have a scientific and professional curriculum that demonstrates proven experience in program and project evaluation methodologies in the health field. It is mandatory to provide documentation that certifies this experience (e.g., employment contracts, scholarships, or scientific production in this area);
Prior and verified involvement in research teams related to the topic of vaccine hesitancy. It is mandatory to present at least one article on the topic of vaccine hesitancy published in a journal indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
EVALUATION CRITERIA AND WEIGHTINGS:
Quality and quantity of scientific experience over the last five years considered most relevant by the candidate (6 points).
Applied or practice-based research activities carried out over the last five years and considered by the candidate to have the greatest impact (6 points).
Extension and knowledge dissemination activities carried out over the last five years, particularly in the context of promoting scientific culture and practices, considered most relevant by the candidate (4 points).
Motivation letter (4 points).
TASKS TO BE PERFORMED:
Define, apply, and monitor the evaluation tools for the project's interventions;
Train local evaluators of the interventions in the selected European countries;
Develop the evaluative analysis of the implementation of interventions in the selected European countries;
Organize the final seminar on the evaluation study of the project's interventions;
Draft progress and final reports related to the project's tasks, as well as any potential publications that may arise.
CONTRACT AND CATEGORY:
PhD holder, Level 33 of the Single Remuneration Table (TRU), in accordance with Regulatory Decree No. 11-A/2017, of 29 December.
DURATION:
The contract is valid for 12 months from the date of its signing, and it can be extended monthly until the end of the project. The contract will remain in effect for a maximum of the duration of the activities described in this notice and, in any case, cannot exceed 6 years in accordance with the law.

METHODS OF SELECTION AND DEFINITION OF WEIGHTINGS:
Curriculum evaluation in accordance with the evaluation criteria and respective weightings - 90%
If an interview is not required, either because there is only one candidate or the curriculum evaluation is sufficient to rank the candidates, the curriculum evaluation is weighted at 100%.
Candidates who, on a grading scale from 0 to 20 for the respective evaluation and scoring criteria, do not reach a score of 10 will be excluded from the recruitment process.
