Offer Description Centrale Lille Institute/IEMN is looking for a PhD student to develop a first prototype of functionalized microsensor on-patch for breast cancer monitoring in the framework of the SWEATPATCH Horizon-EIC-2023 European pathfinder open project (No 1201130618).
Context
SWEATPATCH European research project: Remote SWEAT Skin PATCH for Monitoring Breast Cancer Therapeutic Response.
SWEATPATCH aims to develop and clinically test a disruptive wearable and remotely connected passive patch that will enable real-time monitoring of the therapeutic response in breast cancer patients through the analysis of selected relevant volatile organic compounds (VOCs) biomarkers originating from the evaporation of sweat on skin.
Description of the PhD Thesis
The objective is to develop and clinically test a disruptive, passive, wearable and remotely-connected patch for real-time monitoring of therapeutic response in breast cancer patients by analyzing relevant VOCs biomarkers from sweat evaporation.
As a PhD student, you will work on:
FEM simulation and optimization of the core part of the sensor to design a high-performance VOCs microsensor.
Micro/Nano-fabrication and functionalization of the sensor surface.
Device characterization under targeted VOCs in controlled conditions for preliminary validation.
Supervision:
Prof. Philippe Pernod, PI of the SWEATPATCH project
Prof. Abdelkrim Talbi, Co-PI of the SWEATPATCH project
Dr. Lorena Manzanares, Participant in the SWEATPATCH project
Join our team and contribute to groundbreaking research in sensor technology and biomedical diagnostics!
