PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Primary responsibility is to provide payroll services for employees in accordance with Fresenius Medical Care company policy and country regulations. In addition, the position is responsible for advancing Fresenius Medical Care culture by exemplifying core values and providing superior customer service. While most tasks are of a routine nature, this position requires independent thinking for analysis of payroll issues and recommendations on how to best resolve them through the normal payroll process.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise daily operations, including but not limited to: establishing goals, assigning tasks and maintaining schedules.
Accountable for complete, accurate and timely processing of payroll cycles, payments, statutory filings and reporting, based on payroll calendar.
Ensure all payroll inputs including time & attendance, benefits and Workday (HCM) are processed timely by payroll team.
Receive, prepare, verify and upload payroll data upon which payroll will be calculated and reconciled.
Ensure payments, statutory filings and reports are completed.
Validate data quality of outbound interfaces sent to third-party providers.
Problem solve variances, data errors and processing/payment issues and provide recommended solutions.
Support team in understanding variances, data errors and processing/payment issues and provide recommended solutions.
Support team in raising off-cycle payroll.
Validate and approve payroll register.
Responsible for system configuration changes and payroll calendar set up.
Develop and maintain payroll standard operating procedures.
Adhere to process documentation, company policies, internal controls and payroll performance metrics.
Perform tasks in compliance with local employment legislation and data protection.
Develop and maintain relationships through effective and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as primary escalation point of contact for payroll as well as time and attendance related queries.
Provide necessary data and clarifications to questions raised by internal or external audit as needed.
Act as primary payroll subject matter expert for assigned country/ region.
Undertake payroll KPI reviews and recommend process improvements.
Represent payroll operations in various projects and duties as assigned by manager.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree is required
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
1-3 years' experience as Supervisor
Knowledge on general local payroll concepts (i.e., income tax, social security, pension, statutory leaves)
Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
Good computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and email applications
Critical Skills: attention to detail, customer service, analytical, communication, organizational
Critical Attributes: team player, dedicated, reliable
Ability to complete work assignments within required time constraints and meet critical deadlines
Flexible work pattern
Experience with Workday (HCM) and time and attendance systems preferred
Language: English C2 required, additional European languages desired
