Offer Description For its Patents Department, the INPI is looking for a patent engineer in organic chemistry M/F.
Reporting to the head of the Organic Chemistry - Medicines division and integrated into a team of 12 employees, your missions will be as follows:
You are responsible for examining applications for patents, mainly in the organic chemistry sector (cosmetics, medicines, polymers, etc.), with a view to granting patents, in accordance with the procedure provided for by the legislative and regulatory texts that are authoritative on the national territory.
You assist applicants, companies, researchers, and independent innovators during this examination procedure.
You are responsible for carrying out documentary research and preparing preliminary research reports with a written opinion on patentability during the examination procedure.
You participate in awareness-raising and training missions on industrial property intended for the academic and industrial world, and may also be required to assess the needs of companies in terms of industrial property as part of IP pre-diagnostics.
You take part in patent opposition procedures in your technical field, and can assume the role of opposition committee chairman for experienced profiles.
You may be required to carry out the examination of applications for supplementary protection certificates (SPCs).
With an engineering background, M2 or doctoral degree (BAC +5 to BAC +8) in the field of organic chemistry, you are curious about technological developments and know industrial property law (a CEIPI graduate would be an asset) or are motivated to invest in this field.
For experienced candidates: you are looking for a position that highlights your skills as a patent engineer, in particular by allowing you to take on the role of opposition committee chair.
For entry-level candidates: you are looking for a position that will allow you to discover the profession of patent engineer, by putting your technical knowledge to use in the analysis of inventions.
You are fluent in English, preferably have some knowledge of German, and would like to develop your knowledge of these languages.
This expert position requires rigor, dynamism, a spirit of synthesis, autonomy, a sense of pedagogy, interpersonal skills, and a good ability to work in a team. A sense of confidentiality is essential.
