Pastry Head Chef

The Sentido Galo Resort is located on Madeira Island and is part of DER Touristik Hotels & Resorts. The resort comprises 229 rooms in 3 neighbouring hotels. We are looking for a talented and creative Pastry Head Chef to join our culinary team and manage pastry production for our F&B outlets. The ideal candidate will be a passionate professional playing an essential role in developing our F&B offer.
Responsibilities: Create, prepare, and present a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods.
Create seasonal and regional innovative dessert menus in collaboration with the culinary team.
Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Oversee daily operations in the pastry kitchen, ensuring all items are prepared in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Train and mentor the pastry team.
Monitor stock and ingredients, placing orders when necessary to avoid shortages.
Requirements: Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role.
Willingness to learn, develop, and improve own skills, with the ability to progress and engage.
Expertise in pastry techniques, decoration, and presentation.
Strong knowledge of baking ingredients, pastry tools, and equipment.
Strong attention to detail, creativity, and passion for food.
