.Who is Defined.Ai?
Defined.Ai leverages the power of a global crowd to provide some of the world's biggest companies with the high-quality data they need to power their artificial intelligence.
We're instrumental to the progression and development of artificial intelligence and we couldn't be prouder or more inspired to be involved in an industry that is changing the world.
From a personal point of view, we're a group of big thinkers, high achievers, and creative problem solvers.
We bond over our shared love of software engineering, data science, and strong coffee.
We like online gaming, running marathons, and team drinks.
We celebrate authenticity and diversity and we're invested in what we do.
Our mission?
World domination, obviously!
Responsibilities of the Partnerships Intern: Own partner dataset sample ingestion pipeline: Take unstructured data samples across all data types (speech, image, text, audio, video, synthetic, etc) and serialize it into an indexable format that can be ingested into the sample database to be used across different teams at DAI.
Write scripts in Python to automate the information extraction of specific types of files.
Examples include using the ffmpeg library to crop and extract metadata (FPS, resolution, etc) from videos, or using simple scripts to calculate word count averages on a dataset of blog comments.
Answer tickets from internal teams about the technical elements of a dataset, via Jira.
Work on an agile team: Participate and sometimes drive sprint meetings to triage and report on the living backlog of onboarding samples being ingested into the catalogue.
You will own the entire pipeline from submission of sample by partner to publishing of dataset to be used by sales and marketing.
Seek Leadership/"Intrapreneurship": The sample ingestion pipeline is a living breathing process that is open to be optimized.
We are looking for someone who not only wants to establish full ownership over a process that is critical to Defined.Ai but also is constantly seeking how to make it better.
The ideal candidate will be suggesting ways to do things better rather than waiting to be guided.
Appetite for growth: At the partner team, we dedicate a portion of our time to career skill equity optimization.
We have members learning how to code, get PM certs, learning financial accounting, and more, via our corporate Udemy account.
The ideal candidate will have an appetite to develop a technical depth that can take them down the path towards a career like software deployment.
Requirements: Attention to detail.
Unafraid to ask questions.
Self-starter / has a propensity for agency / proactive.
Wants to learn.
Desire for ownership.

Proficient writing.
Nice to haves: Scripting experience (Python, JS, VisualBasic in Excel, etc).
Experience working with video and audio files.
Experience with PM software (Jira, Trello, etc)
