ROLE SUMMARY:St. Peter's International School is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Operations Manager to join our School Leadership Team (SLT). The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all non-academic operations at the school. Reporting directly to the School's Executive Head, the Operations Manager will oversee operational teams, manage facilities, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to optimizing the school's support services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Operations Management Lead and supervise operational teams and external providers, including maintenance, IT, cleaning, catering, and reception.Foster continuous improvement in operations, enhancing efficiency and support services.Collaborate across departments to address operational challenges and implement solutions.Coordinate resource procurement with the central procurement department.Facilities Management Ensure facilities are safe and conducive to learning.Oversee maintenance, IT, and external vendors for repairs and facility upgrades.Manage health, safety, risk, and business continuity compliance under the Executive Head's guidance.Develop and prioritize an annual premises plan in collaboration with the Capex team.Strategically optimize non-academic resources for financial and operational efficiency.Health and Safety Keep safety policies updated and ensure staff are trained.Lead fire safety training in coordination with the Executive Head.Provide the Senior Leadership Team with accurate updates on health, safety, and premises management.Auxiliary Services Management Oversee auxiliary services such as catering, afterschool programs, and transportation.Manage external vendor relationships with central financial team support.Monitor and maintain service quality standards.Ensure safeguarding policies are followed by all external providers.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary operational teams, preferably in a school, hospitality, or corporate setting.Strong knowledge of facilities management, health and safety regulations, and risk management.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across all levels.A strategic mindset with the ability to manage complex operations and implement solutions effectively.Fluency in English and Portuguese is essential for effective communication within the school community.Familiarity with auxiliary services management and vendor negotiations.SAFEGUARDING STATEMENTInspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
