Operations Area Manager - Western Europe THE ROLE
As the Regional Operations Manager , you will be part of a regional team that focuses on overseeing the daily operations of Indie Campers stations within a geographical area to drive customer satisfaction, operational results on fleet availability and condition, and operational efficiency by ensuring high standards for our operations and effective implementation of central procedural guidelines defined for our operating model.
Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director, this role is critical to establishing a high-performing operating model through the direct management of local operations teams and coordination with the regional team.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Oversee day-to-day local operations execution and actively manage the teams to achieve results defined for each location regarding fleet availability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency by providing clear, data-based feedback to continuously improve performance.
Oversee the performance of local operations and guarantee that operating standards are followed and operational objectives are met, including auditing & quality control, and frequent depot visits (on average 50% of the time travelling between local stations).
Recruit, select, train, manage, motivate, develop, and retain local teams in your area from a regional office, with ownership of local teams' Performance Management through regional KPIs, performance improvement plans, and termination & renewal decisions.
Actively participate in customer satisfaction-related processes, owning service recovery procedures, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective measures for short-term actions and structural process changes.
Manage workforce scheduling, time tracking, and overtime reports, ensuring adherence to local labor law guidelines and health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with regional teams (asset management, revenue, finance, HR) to remove operational blockers, lead, coordinate, and deliver projects related to operational expansion within your area, and guarantee local implementation of new procedures, tools, and initiatives.
Responsible for the P&L management of locations within the area and variable operational costs, identifying cost optimization initiatives and their effective deployment, while establishing relationships with local suppliers and ensuring resources are adjusted to activity levels.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Background in Engineering, Business Management, or similar education.
At least 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience in strategic operations consulting or finance-related positions is a plus.
More than 3 years of proven experience in managing operational teams with P&L ownership and direct control over operational financial performance in sustainable business models, preferably in the rent-a-car and hospitality industries.
Proven track record in establishing operational standards and developing structured operations.
Proven track record in leading, managing, and developing high-performing local teams across multiple sites.
International experience managing teams in more than one country is a plus.
Capacity to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Thrives under pressure and can coordinate the efforts of large and scattered teams.
Organized, analytical, and results-oriented.
Fluent in English and in the language of the main country of operations, if applicable.
